Lead Apostle Benjamin Ohene-Saffo
3 December 2021

“We know that it is Saturday, but we have to leave everything to come here and share the word of God because we know that our strength comes from the altar of grace”. This was the introductory message by the Lead Apostle Benjamin Ohene-Saffo when he visited the Ningo District for the first time in 2021 to conduct a united service for the Dangme, Osuwem and Ningo Districts at the Old Ningo on Saturday, 13th November 2021.

He read the Bible text from Galatians 5:1, “Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage.”

The yoke of bondage
God, out of His love, created man freely. Time and space had no bondage for Adam and Eve. The Lead Apostle explained that the first bondage of man was when God asked Adam and Eve not to eat or touch the fruit of the tree in the middle of the garden else man will die. The second bondage was the rules and regulations that the Lord God gave to the people of Israel. Man has since lived under law and death. God’s covenant with the Israelites was based on laws and to establish His covenant with the Israelites, blood was used as a sign of the covenant.

The New Covenant

Explaining the new covenant, the Lead Apostle said that God knew that those laws can no more give salvation so He had to do a new covenant. God promised his new covenant in the book of Jeremiah 31:31-34 and Paul’s letter to the Hebrews 8:9-13 where God said He will forgive the iniquities of His people and would no more remember their sins. And that is the new covenant we have received today. Through Jesus’ sacrifice, man does not have to sacrifice an animal to God before he receives forgiveness. So the sign of the new covenant is Jesus’ blood as testified in Matthew 26:28.

Where Can We Find The Grace?
The law was brought through Moses and grace through Jesus Christ. We look into the past to be motivated but we listen to what Christ said to be saved. We do not have to throw away the salvation we have through Jesus Christ and go back into bondage. What makes one free is what is entailed in the covenant and doing it. Jesus says that except a man eats His body and drinks His blood, that man is not part of Him and would not be risen on the last day. No person has the right to prevent us from partaking in the Holy Communion that has been left in the care of the Apostle Ministry for which we partake in as New Apostolic Christians today.

In the Service, Priest John Tettey-Wayo of Dangme District was put into retirement, A new Priest and three Deacons were ordained. Bishop Charles Addo Asare, District Rector Adjah (Dangme District), and Priest Opoku (Accra Central Church) assisted in the service.

Women, We Are Special!
This was the third time the voluntary Ministers’ Wives Group (Accra) gathered to educate the young ladies on menstrual hygiene, sexual misconduct, and good behaviour. They also donated sanitary pads to the participants. An interview with one of the beneficiaries revealed that it was a good move because she got educated on menstrual health and will also save her money from the purchase of sanitary pads for the next three to four months.
