It was all joy when members from Anyinam and other congregations in the Bosuso District had a joint service at the Osino congregation to revive the church as it had been dormant and inactive for some time since the departure of their congregational priest. Apostle Robert Asampong was very excited to see members from other congregations come together in unity to help uplift the Osino congregation.
The text word for the divine service was taken from Philippians 2:10-11, “...that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth. And that every tongue should confess that Jesus is Lord, to the glory of God the father”
Zacchaeus
Using the story of Zacchaeus, the Apostle highlighted the need for all to submit and bow to the authority and power of Jesus to be saved: “Zacchaeus’ motives, after the visit of Jesus, revealed that his repentance and faith were genuine. Zacchaeus bowed to the name of the Lord and salvation was granted him by the Lord Jesus Christ. Let us desist from our old ways and allow the word of God to revive us to help grow the Osino Congregation.
Importance of offering
Teaching on the importance of offering and thanksgiving, Apostle Robert Asampong said “those who offer willingly to the Lord receive unwavering blessings from the Lord. Again offering is used to promote the work of God.” Referencing Chief Apostle Fehr, the Koforidua leader added that anytime we give offering, we have the opportunity to thank God for all He has done for us. He also highlighted the importance of offering as:
- Spiritual growth
- An expression of joy
- A journey towards the perfection of the soul
- A source of natural blessing.
-
Sexual Misconduct
After the divine service, Apostle Asampong also educated the congregation of the church’s policy on sexual misconduct. He encouraged the congregants to report every sexual misconduct that is meted to them either by a minister, elderly member or anybody to the appropriate leaders. He also tasked all parents to encourage good communication between their children so that they may have the courage to report all sexual misconduct to the leaders.
Lastly, he gave out the names of the leaders to whom such acts of misconducts are to be reported.
