A young sister welcomes the Lead Apostle to the Breweniase ongregation
4 November 2021

Lead Apostle Benjamin Ohene-Saffo paid a 3-days’ working visit to the Volta North Apostle Area from 24th to 26th September 2021. On 25th September, 2021 he conducted a divine service in our congregation at Breweniase (Nkwanta District) in the northern part of the Apostle Area in the Oti Region, with 86 members in attendance.

The divine service was based on a bible word from Matthew 24:40-41 “Then two men will be in the field: one will be taken and the other left. Two women will be grinding at the mill: one will be taken and the other left.”

“Today is not a Sunday, but we have left all our plans to gather at the altar of grace. This is premised on our recognition that it is the Lord who gives all things and we are obliged to express unto Him our gratitude when need be” expressed the Lead Apostle in opening the service

The goal of our faith
The Lead Apostle stated that, as New Apostolic, our goal is to be with the Lord in eternal fellowship. Our striving is geared towards this singular goal. We believe that, when we seek first the kingdom of God and its righteousness, all other things shall be added. At the return of the Lord, we want to be caught up with Him. Man strives for physical wellbeing coupled with the many adversities on the face of the earth. “In spite of this”, the Lead Apostle remarked, “let us not lose sight of our heavenly goal”.

The return of Christ
“The Lord Jesus shall come as surely as He promised; His mission, to take home His bride. To be part of this great event, one ought to be faithful to the Lord and follow the path of salvation made available through the Apostolate”, the Lead Apostle mentioned. “There shall be a separation among mankind as stated in our bible word. Our ability to be caught up with the Lord stems from how well we live according to the gospel of Christ, while believing and receiving the sacraments” he averred. The souls that are prepared shall be received into eternal bliss. The Lead Apostle entreated the members to eschew all that which will hamper our spiritual development into the nature and stature of the Lord.

Preparation of souls for the day of the Lord

According to the Lead Apostle, the Apostolate is clothed with the authority to prepare souls for this great day. This they do through:
* preaching of the word of God;
* forgiveness of sins;
* administration of the sacraments – Holy baptism, Holy sealing and Holy Communion.

Those who avail themselves for this process of sanctification shall not be left behind on the day of the Lord. “Let us take advantage of this opportunity granted us and we shall not be disappointed”, emphasized the Lead Apostle.

Concluding the sermon, the Lead Apostle admonished the members to focus on the goal of faith, press tirelessly towards righteousness through the sacraments and the gospel, thereby making themselves worthy to be taken up with the Lord Jesus Christ on His return.

The service was supported by Apostle Timothy Akubia, District Rector Edmund Ayivi and Deputy District Rector Owel Bronya.
