The Sunday School children welcoming Lead Apostle Oppong-Brenya to the Ahwiaa Congregation
11 June 2021

It was the first time in the Ahwiaa congregation two Apostles visited on the same day for a divine service.  Lead Apostle Samuel Oppong-Brenya on Sunday 30th May 2021, paid a visit to brothers and sisters to worship with them in their newly built but yet to be fully furnished church building built through the contributions of the members. He was accompanied by Apostle Amos Osei-Du and some District Rectors.

The Lead Apostle served with a passage from the bible taken from 1 Peter 1: 1-2, “Peter, an Apostle of Jesus Christ, to the pilgrims of the Dispersion …elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, in sanctification of the Spirit, for obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ; grace to you and peace be multiplied”

In his opening remarks, the Lead Apostle commended the forbearers of the congregation for the foundation of faith they laid to keep the Ahwiaa Congregation till today. He added that the most important thing for us is to have our names written in Heaven, and all glory belong to the Lord.

Pilgrims of the Dispersion
The Lead Apostle explained how the brethren suffered persecutions at the time because of their love for Christ. They could not stay at one place for the fear of persecutions. These have laid down their lives for the spreading of the gospel and were more hopeful for the reward ahead of them. He admonished members to show forth the New Apostolic faith wherever we find ourselves in the world and work hard.

Let us sanctify ourselves
The Lead Apostle explained what we are made of after receiving the Holy Spirit – the Spirit of God. He abhors filth and loves righteousness, He enables us with the light, to see what is sin and that which is good.  We must depart from evil and flee from the enticements of the devil. It will be better for us to remain faithful to the Lord than to give in to the offers of the adversary; “Satan does not offer free gifts, and you will surely pay back”, the Lead Apostle said.

Sacrifice for the Lord

The Northern Ghana Leader wished the blessings of the Lord for the members of the congregation for their sacrifices. He however advised them to walk in righteousness, serving the Lord till He comes. He tasked the members to win souls to join them in their new place of worship.

In conclusion, Lead Apostle Oppong-Brenya admonished the members “to commit their ways to the Lord and surrender all to Him for our strength will fail us.” “May the Lord help us, so that His grace and His love, through the power of the Holy Spirit, opens our eyes to live till the Lord comes.”
