The Lead Apostle with the ministers before the divine service
30 April 2021

April 10th, 2021, will be engraved in the minds of many brothers and sisters of Tepa as a watershed moment; a new church building was dedicated to help rekindle and deepen their fellowship. Not just that, it was also the occasion of the retirement of one of their longest serving ministers: District Elder Gabriel Bosumuru. This occasion was led by Lead Apostle Samuel Oppong-Brenya.

The service was based on the text word John 10:7-8, ‘Then Jesus said to them again, “Most assuredly, I say to you, I am the door of the sheep. All who ever came before Me are thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not hear them.’”

Lead Apostle Oppong-Brenya began: “We should be very grateful to God for the gift of life and acknowledge how wonderful God is, and the miracles He performs in keeping His own.” Recounting an incident during the height of the Liberian civil war, a New Apostolic Church building was destroyed yet the altar remained intact. This showed that God, indeed, presents Himself to us through the divine services from the Altar of Grace; He is present anytime we gather before the altar to celebrate divine services.

The Leader congratulated the members for putting up a new church building for God. He further stated that God blesses anyone who sacrifices his resources and time to assist in building a chapel for God.

A thankful and joyous heart
Preaching for the last time as an active minister, District Elder Gabriel Bosumuru thanked and sought God’s blessings for the Leaders, church members, his wife and children for all the support over the last three decades and more. He expressed his gratitude and fulfilment at bringing his work as a District Elder to an end in a peaceful manner.

District Elder Bosumuru retires
Acting on behalf of the District Apostle, the Lead Apostle placed the District Elder into retirement by praising the devotion of his time, energy and resources over the past 30 years and more. He prayed for God’s blessings upon District Elder Bosumuru and family.
