“It is not a normal service like we have every day, when you have people seated all over the place. However, this is virtually an empty church, but the most important thing is the connection we have within our hearts, that the word of God still remains within us and that we keep in mind these words given to us.”

Those were the opening words of Lead Apostle Benjamin Ohene-Saffo who conducted a divine service via YouTube from the Osu Congregation premises in Accra on 14th June 2020. He was assisted by Apostle Richard Senyo Osei of Volta Central.

The text word was taken from 2 Corinthians 13: 14, “The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you all. Amen.”

The Lead Apostle described the passage as the basis upon which we worship as Christians.

The Grace of the Lord Jesus Christ. It is the grace of God that has made us who we are as Christians. The Lord Jesus Christ was offered unto us, that He should come and die so that our sins can be taken away. The sacrifice of Jesus was once and for all. God gave us the opportunity to have our sins forgiven, and that is the grace Christ has granted us. By this act, the word can be preached across all nations. Today, He still sends His Apostles to preach the word and to forgive sins in His name.

The Love of God. The Apostle emphasized that the love of God is a love that cannot be measured in any way. It began in the Garden of Eden, through the people of Israel and now poured onto us through the Holy Spirit. “We have sinned against God but He gave us a way to be able to please Him again. What kind of love can be measured to this?” asked the Lead Apostle.

God’s love was poured into us by the Holy Spirit, meaning, we have the same love of God in us. We should be able to show this love to our neighbours.

The Communion of the Holy Spirit.
The Holy Spirit is what binds us together. The Spirit reminds us of everything that Jesus has taught so that we do not go away from the doctrine He has given us. The Holy Spirit is with us, and it is the same Spirit as was with the early church. “The fellowship with the Holy Spirit has not changed and it would not change. It will remain with us until the Lord Jesus comes again to take us home” he said.

In conclusion Lead Apostle Ohene-Saffo said, “Brethren, the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God and the communion of the Holy Spirit must not be forgotten within us. We must let it stay in our hearts all the time”.
