Priest Albert Mintah, rector of the Boinzan Congregation in the Sefwi Joaboso District of the Sefwi Wiawso Apostle area conducted a divine service on Sunday 15th March 2020.
The text word for the divine service was taken from Mathew 25:36, ‘I was Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me’.
Elaborating on the text word, Priest Mintah said, “Let’s help our brothers in the faith who need clothing, visit the prisoners and care for the sick. The little things we do for the poor in the church will cause God to bless us. Let us not say that what we are offering is small, it is not about how much we give but once we give from a cheerful heart and willingly, God will reward us”.
“Don’t wait to get all the money in the world before you do good to your brother. Don’t wait to build all your houses and properties before you start lending a helping hand to the poor and needy. The difficulties, sickness, economic crises and many others will force you to be hard hearted and make you think only of yourself and family, but brethren, these are the times we need to help our brothers and sisters in the faith”.
Encouraging the congregation to provide help for each other, the Priest added, “One person gives freely, yet gains even more; another withholds unduly, but comes to poverty. A generous soul will prosper, and he who refreshes others will himself be refreshed.”
Priest Albert Mintah ended his sermon by saying, “You can’t love God and hate your neighbor. Faith without works is useless. Christ will come again and judge the living and the dead, but those who partake in the first resurrection will be spared the last judgement”.
Priest Albert Mintah was assisted by Deacon Resco Affum.
