On Sunday, 15th March 2020, Apostle Edward Hayford Nzimah conducted a joint service for three congregations in the Wiawso district of the Wiawso Apostle area at the Wiawso Central church. This marks his first service for the year 2020 in the district and also his last service for the district as he prepares towards his planned retirement in the coming weeks.
“My beloved brothers and sisters in the Lord, great things happen in the house of the Lord Almighty. If we want peace, wisdom, prosperity and security, there is no other place except the house of the Lord Almighty and that is the exact place we are at this moment. For this reason, we ought to thank our Lord for keeping us alive.” These were the introductory words by Apostle Nzimah as he began his service.
The text word for the service was taken from Isaiah 55:10-11, ‘For as the rain comes down, and snow from Heaven, and do not return there, but water the earth, and make it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower and bread to the eater, so shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; it shall not return to Me void, but it shall accomplish what I please, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it’.
He continued, “Beloved, we are all gathered here for one reason; the reason being that we are waiting for the second coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. Let us come to His house often and pray for His second coming and once He has promise us, He will fulfil it.”
Throwing more light on the text word, he said, “God made a covenant with mankind that he will send His only Begotten Son to die for our salvation and truly, Jesus Christ came to die for us on the cross of Calvary. Jesus could have saved Himself on the cross, but due to the fulfilment of the promise of His Father in heaven for mankind, He died on the cross. This tells us that God’s promise to mankind never fails.”
“God has made another promise to mankind through His Son Jesus Christ that He is going to His Father in heaven to prepare a place for His believers and in due time, He return for them. This is a great promise, and the more reason why we are gathered here this morning; to pray and wait for the second coming of our Lord Jesus Christ”.
He continued; “We are in difficult times, the time for the second coming of our Lord is getting closer. So we need to be devoid of earthly things and focus on the promise our Lord has given us. The scriptures say, ‘there are many places in my father’s house. If not that, I wouldn’t have told you I am going to prepare a place for you, and where I live, there you live also’”.
Concluding, he said, “For as snow and water does not return to heaven but water the earth and bring forth fruits to the farmer, so the Word of God shall not return but dwell in mankind and bring forth fruit of oneness, peace and forgiveness.” “This is a great promise and it shall be fulfilled. Peace be onto you, may the good Lord protect you until we meet again”, said by Apostle Nzimah.
The divine service was supported by District Rector Yaw Ennin and Community Evangelist Robert Ayamga.
