Sister Gloria Arthur and Brother Godfred Ackah teaching our young ones during their lesson
6 March 2020

On Sunday, 1st March 2020, the Ewoku Congregation in the Kyekyewere District were blessed to have Apostle George Sam of the Takoradi Apostle Working Area to celebrate with the Divine Service for the Departed with them.

Prior to the service, the Sunday school children, together with their teachers, Sister Gloria Arthur and Brother Godfred Ackah enjoyed a lesson on the topic, Time before the Flood, which was taken from Genesis 6:1-22.

The text word for the divine service was taken from Romans 14:9, ‘For to this end Christ died and rose and lived again, that He might be Lord of both the dead and the living.’

Live and Die in His Name

Proclaiming his message, the Apostle said for if we live, we live to the Lord; and if we die, we die to the Lord. Therefore, whether we live or die, we are the Lord’s and not the ungodly world. He added that we benefit a lot from Christ and the Lord protects us day in and day out.

None of us is without sin, he stated. He said Christ did not come for one person, but came for all souls. Apostle Sam mentioned that countless allegations were leveled against Jesus Christ because of us, and He suffered many challenges for our sake. We should always cast our burden unto the Lord, and He shall sustain us.

Remember the Lost Souls
Apostle Sam explained that there are many souls in the beyond who need our help. It is our responsibility to intercede for them. He said Christ did not only bring salvation to the living but He went to the beyond and preached the gospel so that they also can be saved.

The Apostle further highlighted that, during Noah’s time the gospel was preached to everyone like the way it is been done today but majority did not listen to God’s word because they belittled the person asserting the gospel to them. In view of this, they disregarded the message. We admonished that if we don’t listen to the teaching and practices of the Apostles, whatever things that happened during Noah’s time shall happen in this era of grace.

Apostle Sam concluded by saying that if we confess with our mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in our hearts that God has raised Him from the dead, we will be saved.

Apostle Sam was assisted by Deputy District Rector Sunu, Shepherd Anthony Ndakye and Priest Philip Cudjoe.
