Little sister Celestine gets ready to welcome the Lead Apostle
31 January 2020

On Saturday, 25th January 2020, Lead Apostle Benjamin Ohene-Saffo embarked on his first visit to the Volta North Apostle Area, following his assignment in December 2019 as the Lead Apostle for the Area. He conducted his first divine service in the Volta North at the Okadjakrom congregation in the Jasikan District.  It was a moment of joy for the over 200 members who had eagerly prepared for this day. The Lead Apostle was accompanied on this trip by Apostle Timothy Akubia (Volta North Apostle Area).

The Lead Apostle read a text from 2 Timothy 4:18, “And the Lord will deliver me from every evil work and preserve me for His heavenly kingdom. To Him be glory forever and ever. Amen!”

“My dear brothers and sisters, it is a blessing that we could meet this day. We come not to make merry, neither are we here only for fellowship. We are here because we know of the blessings herein; and so we come with a clean heart” remarked the Lead Apostle to open the divine service.

In his elaboration, the Lead Apostle stated that, Apostle Paul was steadfast in the face of the challenges he was confronted with in the propagation of the gospel. He believed in God who chose and elected him. The Lead Apostle emphasized that, we have also been elected by a faithful God whose preoccupation is to prepare us and make us worthy for His kingdom. “Our God is faithful and has granted us the grace which has made us followers of the Apostles of Jesus Christ” he asserted.

Lead Apostle Ohene-Saffo observed that the Lord delivers us from evil works through:
* the forgiveness of sins, which affords us the opportunity to be renewed;
* the holy communion, which strengthens the life of God in us;
* the scriptures and the sermon – providing guidance, comfort and counsel.

“He who elected us has made every provision for our survival and wants to preserve us for His Kingdom. Let us have faith in Him and accept and use wisely, the deliverance channels He has provided. We want to be delivered from sin, and thereby enter into His Kingdom”, concluded the Lead Apostle.

The Lead Apostle was assisted by Apostle Timothy Akubia and District Rector Samuel Agyemang.
