Brothers and sisters in the Mankessim district of the Cape Coast Apostle Area climaxed the last Sunday of the year with a service conducted by Apostle Ashie Kotei on December 29, 2019 at the Mankessim Central Church. The service was attended by 685 members during which 135 souls were sealed and a Priest was also ordained.

Apostle Ashie Kotei read the bible text from Psalm 40:5, ‘Many, O Lord my God, are Your wonderful works which You have done; And Your thoughts toward us cannot be recounted to You in order; if I would declare and speak of them, they are more than can be numbered.’

Beginning his sermon, the Apostle said, the Lord has been gracious to us. He remarked: “We started the year (2019) by coming before the Lord to glorify and worship Him; by listening to His words and doing them. This is what the Lord is expecting from us.” He said it was our resolve this year to have riches in the Lord, “as the riches of this world perishes, it is only the riches in the Lord that remains forever.”

Apostle Ashie Kotei referred to naked people as those who in death are without riches in the spirit, have no peace and are not covered by the glory of the Lord. He reiterated that, “we look for riches of the Lord and would never say we will go naked, but we will go with love, our hope in the Lord, salvation, knowledge and wisdom that we have received from the Lord. With all these riches, we can say the Lord has done great things for us.”

The Lord performs miracles in our lives and has done it again this year (2019). In sadness He comforted us, in our difficulties He cared for us, in our sickness He healed us. “We should thank Him, for His great mercies towards us” he said.

The Apostle further stressed we should do the works of love and not think evil about anybody. “The Lord has granted us His grace and did not cast us away from His presence when we sinned, but rather encourages us not to do evil. The time is coming when the Lord will come, it is important we serve Him, that is what He expects from us.” the Apostle concluded.

District Rector of the area Allan Hayford assisted in the service. Prior to this service, Apostle Ashie Kotei had sealed 20 and 88 members respectively in separate services in Assin Jakai and Asikuma Districts.
