Lead Apostle Samuel Oppong-Brenya held a divine service at Aflao on Sunday, 24th November, 2019. Aflao is a pioneer congregation inspiring the birth of other congregations in the Volta South, Volta Central and Volta North Apostle Areas in Ghana as well as Togo and Benin. This service climaxed the 50th Anniversary of the Church in Ghana within the Sogakope District. Since that was Lead Apostle’s last official visit, members were joyous, but experienced some mixed feelings due to the changes.
The text word was taken from Revelation 21: 6-7, “And he said unto me, it is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely.”
“God granted us grace and blessings throughout the past 50 years. He moved us from darkness (bondage) into the light and offered us salvation. Let us hold the mantle of our fore-bearers with care and focus on the next 50 years, with everyone playing their role in the salvation work,” Lead Apostle Oppong-Brenya remarked.
Lead Apostle Oppong-Brenya stated that nothing existed before God and nothing supersedes God. No one knows how God came into being. That is why He is ‘The Supreme Being’ and everlasting. He recounted the encounter between the Samaritan Woman and Jesus Christ and stressed that the ‘Well of Life’ is embedded in God. All those who have Him, in heart and spirit, would be saved.
He admonished members to accept the greatest Gift of God – Jesus Christ, who should be the centrepiece of our lives; our everything. He ended that, the greatest wealth is to be a “Child of God and an overcomer.”
He was supported by Apostle Kuada, District Rectors Agbenyegah and Afun together with Shepherd Geoffrey Amedoe.
