Route match from Aflao en-route to Denu

The jubilant members of the Sogakope District celebrated the 50th Anniversary of the Church in Ghana at Aflao on Saturday 23rd November 2019 with a series of activities to mark the occasion. They were joined in the celebrations by the Lead Apostle Samuel Oppong-Brenya. Apostles Kuada (Volta South - host), Apostle Akubia (Volta North), Apostle Osei (Volta Central) and District Ministers were also in attendance.

Cleaning: The Anniversary was launched with a clean-up exercise at the Ketu South Municipal Assembly Complex, Aflao and its environs on Friday, 22nd November, 2019 by the host congregation – Aflao.

Procession:
On Saturday, 23rd November 2019, members undertook a procession on foot through the principal streets between Aflao and Denu and converged at the venue at 11.00 a.m.  
Sharing a message of inspiration, Apostle Anthony Kofi Kuada said, “Our children would be the future leaders in the next 50 years.  What we impart today would improve the church in the next 50 years…”

A Talk: Lead Apostle Samuel Oppong-Brenya discussed the definition, origin, elements, qualities, forms and channels of prayer.  He reiterated that Jesus Christ Himself prayed at all times and at all levels.  Lead Apostle elaborated on the contemporary mode of prayer, and what Jesus Christ taught His Disciples about prayer.  He cautioned members to approach God without pride and fear.  He admonished them to include praises, gratitude, intercession and petition in their prayers.   He finally urged members to pray unceasingly with patience till God decides.   

Performance: The Sunday School Children took their turn to stage plays and sing choral music as well as recite bible quotations and the New Apostolic Creed.  The day’s programme ended with choral music by the various Youth Choirs and cutting of the anniversary cake by the Lead Apostle.
