It was fun, entertaining and all joy in the evening of Saturday 30th November 2019, at the University of Health and Allied Sciences (UHAS) Auditorium as the New Apostolic Church Choirs from Ho Central, Agortorme and a guest choir from Evangelical Presbyterian EP Church (Ho Kpodzi) performed a musical concert to mark the 50 years’ anniversary of the church. The theme for the concert was “Reaching Out to the Last Soul through Singing”.
Apostle Richard Senyo Osei opened the program with a prayer, and a welcome address to the audience. Lead Apostle Samuel Oppong-Brenya together with Apostles Anthony Kuada, Timothy Akubia and other ministers and their wives were present.
The choirs performed hymns, traditional anthems, acapella, highlife and ‘agbadza’ to the admiration of the audience.
“It is challenging to truly describe music in words. We all know how it makes us feel, and act when we hear it. Music is the spiritual expression of what we are, our faith, our knowledge, and our well-being, above all our culture. Music gives us our identity, where we come from.” These were the closing remarks of Lead Apostle Samuel Oppong-Brenya as he shared a special message.
He encouraged the New Apostolic choristers to have elderly adult members to keep their choirs effective, as the young ones will often be taken away by their jobs, education and other obligations.
