Lead Apostle Samuel Oppong-Brenya climaxed his two day vsist to the Volta Central Apostle Area with a festive divine service on the first day of Advent, Sunday 1st of December 2019. The members received him with mixed emotions of joy and sadness, as he was conducting his last service as Lead Apostle for the Volta Central working area following the changes in country support for Ghana.

The bible text on which the service was based is Isaiah 60:2-3, ‘For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and deep darkness the people; But the Lord will arise over you. And His glory will be seen upon you. The Gentiles shall come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your rising’

Lead Apostle begun by urging the congregation to praise and give thanks to God for calling and choosing us, even when we were in our mothers’ wombs, through His Word for the past 50 years. Through His word, we have been given the light to outshine the darkness. He added that the core faith of the New Apostolic Church is to be partakers in the first resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Explaining the text word, he said that the ‘darkness’ stands for sin, destruction, disaster and judgment of mankind, but the ‘light’ stands for Jesus Christ who brought peace, restoration and wellbeing to mankind. He also urged the congregation to seek and work for the Light and also turn away from things of the flesh so that we can emerge as victors at the mountain top.

Apostles Kuada, Akubia and Shepherd Ernest Foli (Rector, Ho Central) assist in the service.
