8 November 2019

Apostle Darko of the Dunkwa Apostle area, acting on behalf of Lead Apostle Oppong-Brenya and Apostle Ashie Kotei (Cape Coast Apostle area) conducted a funeral service on Saturday 26th October 2019, at the Abowinum congregation in the Enyan district of Cape Coast Apostle area for the departed Obaapanyin Madam Sarah Acquah, mother of Apostle Arthur (retired).

The text for the funeral service was read from John 11:25, ‘Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live.”

In his introductory remarks, Apostle Darko spoke of consolation in God even in the difficulty we face when a loved one departs into eternity. “Thanks be to God for giving us the promise and hope through Jesus Christ. God knows everything that is going to happen in our lives. In all these, we are grateful to Him for granting us consolation and strength” Apostle Darko emphasized.

He further urged the living to repent, “it does not matter your status, age or what you are capable of doing, the time is coming when we will be on a journey.” “Are you one of those who will resurrect, if not then work hard to get to heaven, show with good works”, Apostle Darko remarked. He further urged all not to let evil and wickedness thrive through the works and character that is exhibited.

“Repent, the kingdom of God is at hand, take Jesus as your saviour and follow His Apostles in faith, love and kindness and, these will be of great blessing unto you. My beloved brothers and sisters, let us show love, kindness and true worship of God.” “If you do not repent from your sins, you will not be saved” Apostle Darko concluded.

Apostle Ayidaana (Bolgatanga Apostle Area) and Bishop Asare (Accra Apostle area) assisted in the service. The service was also attended by some active and retired Apostles and their wives.
