Lead Apostle Samuel Oppong-Brenya was welcomed by the Sunday School at Dormaa Ahenkro (Sunyani Apostle Area) as he joined our brothers and sisters in their celebrations of the 50th anniversary of the church in Ghana. This came off on the 20th October 2019.
The Lead Apostle led the celebrations in a divine service based on the text word 1 John 4:19-20: ‘We love Him because He first loved us. If someone says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen, how can he love God whom he has not seen?’
The Lead Apostle entreated the congregation to exhibit the love of God in us by sacrificing ourselves for the work of God. This he said, will show the love we have for God. He spoke about the need to sacrifice our time and everything for the progress of the work of God. He further cited examples of some people in the church who through the work of God lost their souls.
He said: “They exhibited the love of God in them by devoting all their time and energy for God’s work and even died in the course of doing the work of God”. “We love God because He first loved us therefore we should showcase the love for God, selflessly devoting our time for the work of God” he added.
As Christians, we must also demonstrate the love we have for God by loving each other. He urged all to do away with those un-Christ like attitudes, and ensure unity and love for each other so as not to defeat the purpose of God’s love for mankind.
The Lead Apostle was assisted by Apostle Moses Otchere and District Elder Alex Frimpong.
