Apostle Osei at the altar with Stanley, (Interpretor)
31 October 2019

It was that joyful moment in the Ho central congregation when members of the church presented their Thanksgiving offering before the altar of God on the 6th October 2019 at Ho. The divine service was officiated by Apostle Richard Senyo Osei.

The text for the service was chosen from Psalm 136:1, 25 and 26, ‘Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever… Who gives food to all flesh, for His mercy endures forever. Oh, give thanks to the God of heaven! For His mercy endures forever.’

“We celebrate Holy Communion every Sunday and Wednesday but today’s event marks a special one and we ought to give special thanks to our God for He has created us, chosen us and also implanted in us His spirit. Therefore, we need to appreciate and give thanks to Him”, began the Apostle.

The Apostle highlighted that thanksgiving comes from our joy in Christ. God sees deep into our hearts and minds in all we bring before Him. The Apostle urged that giving out of pure and thankful heart opens doors to our blessing in Christ, and further counselled the congregation to freely offer and sacrifice their talents and resources to build the church.

He continued and encourage the congregation to emanate thanksgiving through proclamation of the faith, believe in God and also through realization of God’s grace upon us. He advised members not to justify their thanksgiving by only the physical things God has given them, but should appreciate and give thanks in all things and situations.

He further encouraged the congregation to be content with God, exhibit assurance in Him, trust Him with our hearts and also entrust our needs into His Hands.
The Apostle concluded his service by encouraging the congregation to share the Word with our brothers and sisters outside the church, not only through our sayings but through our deeds as well.

The Apostle was assisted by District Elder Avedzi and District Evangelist Gbey.

After the service, Apostle Osei held a brief meeting with the youth to pick their ideas for the 2020 Youth Day celebrations in Kumasi.
