A divine service was led by Lead Apostle Samuel Oppong-Brenya on the 11th of August 2019 at the Ho Technical University to crown this year’s youth day celebrations. He, together with the youth, also celebrated the works, achievements and presence of retired Apostles Dzattah and Pidah. Some youth were also celebrated for their unique successes in their careers as inspiration to the younger ones.
The bible text for the service was taken from Psalm 107: 1-3, “Oh give thanks to the Lord, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever. Let the redeemed of the Lord says so, whom He has redeemed from the hand of the enemy, and gathered out of the lands, from the east and from the west, from north and from the south.”
“Today is a day of thanksgiving as said by David”, said the Lead Apostle as he began his sermon. “The goodness of God has given us the opportunity to be in the presence of our Maker, having departed from our families to gather and celebrate this year’s youth day”.
He further highlighted on the importance of thanksgiving and acknowledgement. He reminded the youth to give thanks to God and Jesus Christ for being our redeemer. We also need to be thankful for our religious ministers, Sunday school teachers and our parents for the various roles they have played and continue to play in our spiritual welfare and development.
He concluded by encouraging the youth to use their respective God-given talents as a means of thanksgiving to God. He added that those who give thanks always feel the joy and blessing of God within.
The Lead Apostle was assisted by Apostles Richard Senyo Osei and Anthony Kuada, District Elder Degboe and District Evangelist Tey.
