Lead Apostle Samuel Oppong-Brenya met the ministers of the Volta South Apostle area at Agortorme on Saturday, 27th July, 2019 where he explained the changes in the new ministerial structure and its related functions in the New Apostolic doctrine.
The Lead Apostle stated that the changes came about following a consensus by all District Apostles of the New Apostolic Church, with a basis on John 20:21-23 which highlights Authorization, Sanctification and Blessing for the ministry.
He explained that the erstwhile levels of ministry has now been aligned in the new concept as Deacon, Priest and Apostle. He added that these ministries will continue to be ordained as currently done.
Lead Apostle Oppong-Brenya also explained the differences in the acts of ordination, appointment and assignment of ministers within the new concept. He also distinguished that a ministry is different from a minister but they are interdependent and worked in tandem. He pointed out that the ministry was established to help care for the congregation, therefore, a minister must be spiritually competent and love the congregation.
Other topics discussed were on Retirement, Resignation and Dismissal.
After giving feedback on the 2019 International Youth Conference, the Lead Apostle announced that the 2020 Youth Conference in Ghana is slated for KNUST, Kumasi, from 6th – 9th August 2020.
