The second day, 2nd August, of the Accra Apostle Area Youth Camp 2019 (AYC 2019) continued as planned. The youth enjoyed a day filled with a rich narration of our history and heritage, doctrinal teachings, career guidance session and a stage play.
History of NAC in Ghana & the Role of the Youth
Bishop Eric Ampadu (rtd.) took the eager and interested youth through the timeline of the church in Ghana. The narration also highlighted the period of the amalgamation between the Canadian and German administered congregations. Additionally, the retired Bishop touched on the various ways the youth can help in the pastoral care of members.
A Time with Apostle
Apostle Benjamin Ohene-Saffo spent time with the youth in an open forum where he responded to many questions on the doctrine of the New Apostolic Church. He encouraged the youth to delve more into the teachings of the Church and not to be swayed by other doctrines and practices.
Career Guidance and Mentorship.
A new introduction to the activities on the second day, this session had 8 young adults sharing their experience in various fields of industry. These were medicine, education, entrepreneurship, arts and entertainment, journalism, banking, information technology as well as farming.
“The Anniversary”
Members of the Accra West youth performed an original stage play written and directed by Priest Peter Owusu, also a youth member. This was both an entertaining and educative evening event seeking to encourage the youth to contribute to the growth and various initiatives of the church in Ghana on our 50th anniversary.
