A section of the youth of Accra West waiting to be checked-in
5 August 2019

True to the plan of activities, our brothers and sisters of the Accra Apostle Working Area youth arrived in many mini-buses to participate in the Accra Youth Camp 2019 (AYC 2019). Despite a late change in venue, forced by a last minute directive by the Ghana Education Service, Apostle Benjamin Ohene-Saffo, oversaw a successful opening ceremony different to previous youth camps, in the evening of 1st August 2019 at the Jabez Senior High School.

By 9:00 AM, Apostle Benjamin Ohene-Saffo, together with members of the planning committee were on site to receive the very first group to arrive, La Youth (Accra East district), at 1 PM.

The opening ceremony came off at 7:30 PM with an opening prayer by Apostle Benjamin Ohene-Saffo. Following were a variety of performances including an acapella group, a quartet of instrumentalists, a salsa dance performance and a solo performance by a flutist.

Bishop Charles Asare then officially welcomed the youth to the camp and apologized for the late change in venue, explaining the events leading to the change. He also advised the gathering to make good use of their time and fellowship at the camp, by involving themselves and taking part in the various activities.

Thereafter, the Bishop invited the over 600 youth in a countdown to officially open the 2019 Accra Apostle Area Youth camp.
