District Elder Edward Yaw Eninn at the altar
29 July 2019

On Sunday 21st July, 2019, District Elder Edward Yaw Eninn conducted a joint service with four congregations in the Sefwi-Wiawso District of the Wiawso Apostle Area in the Western-North Region.

The text word for the service was taken from 1 Chronicles 28:10, ‘Consider now, for the Lord has chosen you to build a house for the sanctuary; be strong, and do it.’

Addressing the four congregations who had travelled from different parts of the district, he welcomed all for a successful journey and commended their good efforts in helping to spread the Word of God irrespective of their challenges.

Continuing his sermon, he said, “David, who could not build the temple of the Lord, made the necessary preparations and instructed his son, Solomon, to build the sanctuary for the Lord”. He added, “So many Apostles have faithfully played their parts in spreading the Word of God, and are now retired or departed. It is now our turn, to continue to build His temple (the Church)”.

He proceeded by saying, “This temple is not built by cement, sand and water; but by our attitude and character. These should portray the strength and purity of the temple of the Lord. Brethren, our body is the temple of the Lord, therefore as Christians we must live a Christ-like life, so others can join in building the Temple.”

Bringing his sermon to an end, he asked, “Are you building the Temple of the Lord with a heart full of hatred, greediness, adultery or fornication? Since our body is the temple of the Lord, we ought to portray good behaviour, love one another and desist from all acts which will destroy the Temple. It is not easy, but with the Good Lord by our side, we shall succeed.”

The sermon was assisted by District Evangelist Augustus Adika Lavoe (Sefwi-Wiawso District) and Priest Stephen Dodzie (Wiawso Central). In all, about 150 believers from four congregations attended the joint service.
