Sow Good Seeds

Saturday evening was a memorable day as was aptly christened “50th Anniversary Choral Music Evening with Lead Apostle Oppong-Brenya”.

The Rector of the Congregation, Shepherd Paul Adjei, narrated a brief history about the Old Tafo Congregation where the first divine service was officiated by then District Evangelist Samuel Oppong-Brenya on 28th February 1989 with an attendance of 17 souls.

In a summary of his message to the gathering, the Lead Apostle said, “Today, we celebrate the harvest of the good seeds sown 50 years ago. Work hard, be patient and wait for the grace and the glory of God. He will reward us all in His good time.” He quoted a scripture from Proverbs 12: 11 to support his message.

In attendance were Apostles Amos Osei-Du (Kumasi Apostle area), Robert Asampong (Koforidua Apostle area) and Bishop Morgan (retired).

Let Us Help Build

To climax the celebrations, the Lead Apostle conducted a united divine service where two other congregations from Tarkwa-Maakro and Ahwia joined Old Tafo. He was assisted by the host, Apostle Amos Osei-Du and Shepherd Paul Adjei (Rector).

The text word was taken from 1 Chronicles 28: 10, “Consider now, for the LORD has chosen you to build a house for the sanctuary; be strong, and do it.”

The Lead Apostle advised all to watch their heart’s disposition as we help along in God’s work. He acknowledged the sacrifices of the faithful forebearers who helped to develop the church which exists till today.  He admonished members to help build God’s work and not get weary and discouraged, for all our efforts will be rewarded.

Earlier in the day, the Lead Apostle spent time with the Sunday school children. They recited the New Apostolic Creed, books of the Holy Bible and performed a short play about the birth and upbringing of Moses.
