Shepherd Owusu Adjabeng conducted a divine service at the Kumasi Central Church on Sunday June 23rd, 2019, where all participants of the Second Editors’ and Reporters’ Workshop were in also attendance.
The bible text for the service was taken from 2 Corinthians 3:3, ‘Clearly you are an epistle of Christ, ministered by us, written not with ink but by the spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of flesh, that is, of the heart.’
“Beloved brothers and sisters in the Lord, today is the day the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in His great gift of life and strength.” Shepherd Adjabeng said in his introductory remarks.
In his sermon, the Shepherd began by saying that God wrote His laws, the Ten Commandments, on tablets of stone for Israel to follow. But Israel continually faulted. God, through His love and plan of redemption, then sent Jesus Christ who gave a new law; to love God with our hearts and soul, and to love each other.
The Shepherd explained that this new law is not written on tablets of stone, but in our hearts by the Word and Holy Spirit dispensed through the Apostles ministry. Just as the church in Corinth symbolised the letter of commendation for Apostle Paul, “today, we are the letters of Christ. If we have gathered good things in our heart, it will be revealed for everyone to see.”
“We are the written letters of the Lord; the world is reading us. Let us do away with all those things that are not good. It is possible, we can do it!” Shepherd Adjabeng said in conclusion.
Shepherd Bernard Owusu and Community Evangelist Laud Oheneba Barwua assisted in the service. Service attendance was 574 including all 26 reporters and 2 editors from the 15 Apostle Areas.
