It was a joyful moment at the Takoradi Apostle Working Area when Lead Apostle Oppong-Brenya made his first visit of the year to the area as he joined our brothers and sisters in commemorating the 50th anniversary of the church. He visited the Takoradi and Sekondi districts on the 18th May 2019 where he celebrated a divine service and a choral service.
Acknowledge Your God-given Talents and Use Them
At the Kojokrom congregation (Takoradi district), Lead Apostle Oppong-Brenya held a divine service for ministers and their wives based on the text word Matthew 25:15 “And unto one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one, to every man according to his several ability, and straightway took his journey”
The Lead Apostle begun his sermon by recounting the beginnings of the church in Ghana 50 years ago, and celebrating the sacrifices of the doctrine’s forebears who were not among the elites and respected in society. He urged on the current generation; “It is your time to carry the mantle to the next level. Many are the things that fight against the church, but for 50 years, the Lord has been and is still with us.”
Sharing his thoughts on the text word, Lead Apostle Oppong-Brenya said, “Acknowledge the talents that God has given you. The church has different ministries and hierarchy, let us all respect and support each other’s ministry for the growth of the church. Wives, support your husbands in the delivery of their work. Let us all not slumber. Use your talents and with everything you have to support your leaders and they will bless you.”
The Lead Apostle was assisted by Apostle George Sam, Bishop Ampofo as well as District Elders Fenyi, Owu, Andoh and Numah.
Make Your Tongue a Fountain of Life
At the Sekondi congregation, it was an hour’s occasion filled with praise and worship to God as the Sekondi, Kojokrom and Dwomo choirs united to perform well-rehearsed hymns and choral songs in a 50th anniversary choral concert. Over 100 souls celebrated this moment.
Dwelling on the inspiration of a text from Proverbs 18:20-21, the Lead Apostle shared his special message; “A formidable power dwells within the tongue, if we can watch our tongue we will not fall into temptation. God did not only give us the tongue to eat but to glorify His name. If you cannot say sorry for wrong-doing, then look within yourself because you may have pride in you. Make your tongue a fountain of life; bless and do not curse.”
