On Sunday 28th April 2019, eleven (11) young people from the Ho Elder district were confirmed in two separate divine services conducted by Apostle Richard Senyo Osei at Abutia – Kloe and Ho Central. These young brothers and sisters took their vows through which they received their blessings.

The text word for both services was taken from Luke 6: 45, “A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good; and an evil man out the evil treasure of his heart brings forth. For out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks”.

Elaborating on the text word in both sermons, the Apostle compared the human heart to a big warehouse. He explained that the heart is the source of where both good and evil deeds come from. Our hearts are so big that memories and sentiments from our infancy are still kept there. He reminded the gathered souls that God our Heavenly Father is no respecter of persons; He looks into our hearts and not our faces. He urged all not to pretend to love and forgive others and hold onto wrongs done them in their hearts.

Taking the opportunity to address the confirmands, the Apostle reminded them that they will be taking full responsibility of the salvation of their souls. That also means they should act responsibly and be ambassadors of the Church. They must still respect and submit to the guidance of their parents, and keep in mind that they are not children of the world but rather children of God. “Show maturity among your friends, tell them about your faith and finally shun violence”. “That is the meaning of confirmation” he said.
