Confirmation service is an important service conducted for young members who have attained the age of 14 years and completed confirmation classes. This special service, which ushers them into the Youth, was held at Dunkwa-Offin on 5th May, 2019 and conducted by the Lead Apostle, Samuel Oppong-Brenya. About 120 congregants, from Dunkwa and surrounding congregations, were in attendance to witness 20 confirmands take their vows.
The service was based on the text word Colossians 1:16, ‘For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him.’
In his sermon, Lead Apostle Oppong-Brenya reminded the congregation that everything we see in this world was made by God and for a purpose; everything belongs to God; man is only a steward. Therefore, we should not be greedy, for everything we have is for our children and their children. Our rivers have been deeply polluted, forests gravely destroyed and depleted, and man is quiet because of money; "…so selfish", he added.
"Whatever we see with our eyes is flesh but whatever we do not see with our eyes is spirit", the Lead Apostle said. He continued that, we (humans) also belong to Him; we will account to Him what we did with our lives.
The Lead Apostle was assisted by Apostle Darko and District Evangelists Arthur. He also read a letter from the Chief Apostle to the confirmands and blessed them following their Confirmation vow.
