On the 28th April 2019, District Evangelist Samuel Essuah Boadi of the Takoradi District and District Elder Peter Owu of the Kyekyewere District conducted divine services and also performed acts of blessing for confirming brothers and sisters at Kojokrom and Ewoku congregation respectively in the Takoradi Apostle working area.

The text word for the service at Kojokrom was taken from Colossians 3:1 (KJV), ‘If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ is sitting at the right hand of God’.

Sharing his thoughts on the message to the 109 souls gathered, District Evangelist Boadi recounted the story with Stephen, saying “when Stephen was being stoned to death, he knelt down crying out with a loud voice, “Lord lay not this sin to their charge”. Again Stephen saw heaven opened where the Son of God was seated.” He urged the congregation to remain faithful in times of difficulty and set their hearts on things above.

In conclusion, the District Evangelist said, “If you follow Christ because of material things, renew your mind and seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all other things will be added to you.”

At the Ewoku congregation where 99 souls had gathered, District Elder Peter Owu based his sermon on 1 Corinthians 15:14 (KJV). ‘And if Christ be not risen, then is our preaching vain, and your faith is also vain’. In summary, the District Elder emphasized on the core theme and message from the text word, “Let us profess the resurrection of the Lord. Then Christ will live in us.”

The Chief Apostle’s message, based on the bible text Luke 6:45, was read to the young Christians in both congregations. The confirmands were then blessed, upon taking their vows, by the District leaders and presented with gifts. There were four (4) and eleven (11) confirmands at Kojokrom and Ewoku congregations respectively.
