Apostle Benjamin Ohene-Saffo celebrated Palm Sunday with brothers and sisters of the Teshie 2 congregation in the Accra East district. He also conducted Holy Sealing as well as a marriage blessing between a deacon and chorister. He was accompanied by District Elder Ebenezer Felix Adjei and District Evangelist Amoah.
The service was based on Matthew 21:14-15, ‘Then the blind and the lame came to Him in the temple, and He healed them. But when the chief priests and scribes saw the wonderful things that He did, and the children crying out in the temple and saying, “Hosanna to the Son of David!” they were indignant’.
Also, a special bible reading from John 12:12-19 was also read on the day.
Reflecting on the text word, Apostle Ohene-Saffo explained that the triumphant entry of Jesus into Jerusalem, and the subsequent rejoicing of the people, was the precursor to the ultimate Sacrifice of all sacrifices. “This had been decreed in the bible by Isaiah” he added; a prophecy foretold.
He further illustrated that we may not actively sing ‘hosanna’ to welcome Him as was done in the earlier days, but our deeds may speak in favour of Jesus’ Kingship or turn us away from Him. “We are in a different phase of the entry into Jerusalem. Now He is entering into our lives. We have been salvation-established. Jesus Christ sacrificed His life for you and I. And He gave us the principles according to which we must worship Him. The Lord’s entry into Jerusalem was glorious for us all. We have the grace given onto us. Keep the grace and try to be overcomers.”
“The House of the Lord is not the only place we can exhibit our holiness. We should exhibit wherever we are. Let us show we are children of the Father in heaven. Let the world be jealous about us. Let the blessing of the Lord flow on each and every one of us; that His entry into Jerusalem will not be in vain.” Apostle Ohene-Saffo concluded.
The Apostle was assisted at the altar by District Elder Ebenezer Adjei and District Evangelist Amoah. He also conducted Holy sealing for 4 souls. The marriage of Deacon Stephen Sowah and Sister Ernestina Adjei was also blessed by the Apostle.
