The Sunday School listening to the Lead Apostle
5 April 2019

On the 31st of March, 2019, Lead Apostle Samuel Oppong-Brenya conducted a divine service for the people of Agogo District at the Domeabra congregation (Konongo Apostle Area). He was accompanied by Apostle George Anum Nortey and other district ministers. He also interacted with the Sunday School before the service.

The text word for the service was taken from John 13: 7 (NKJV), ‘Jesus answered and said to him, “What I am doing you do not understand now, but you will know after this.”

“Glory be to God, our father for how far He has brought His church. We are 50 years in Ghana. We should always praise Jesus for giving us His church through the Apostles. Let us help God’s work with all our minds, souls, heart; in cash and in kind. We are rich in Christ and let us endeavour to maintain this richness obtained.” These were the words from the Lead Apostle as he began the sermon.

Sharing his thoughts on the given text, the Lead Apostle made it known to the congregation that Jesus Christ was the Son of God but He was obedient to His Father as well as provided service to His Father and mankind. He helped the work of His Father and served the helpless, and still continues to serve the helpless like us. Accordingly, Jesus instructed the Apostles to do the same to their fellow men.

The Lead Apostle further asked, “if Jesus Christ in being obedient to His Father served Him and mankind, then what are we supposed to do as Christians?” He urged the members to obey the will of God, worship Him and provide services to Christ and to our neighbours. “If we love Jesus Christ, we should obey His will. If we do the will of God, then we will be called the children of God” he concluded.

The Lead Apostle was supported by Apostle Nortey, District Elder Obeng Amponsah and District Evangelist Edmund Ampaw. Four hundred and two (402) members attended the service.

Later in the day, Lead Apostle Oppong-Brenya held a second divine service with the Konongo Central church. There he blessed the members for their increasing faith in Christ’s work by extending the church building to cater for nursing mothers. He was assisted at the altar by District Elder Adjetey and District Evangelist Baffour Awuah.
