Sunday School children welcome Lead Apostle Oppong-Brenya
13 March 2019

The Lead Apostle, Samuel Oppong-Brenya, embarked on a visit to the Sunyani Apostle Area from Thursday, 21st February to Sunday, 24th February, 2019. As part of the preparation towards the Divine Service for the departed, the Lead Apostle conducted a festive Divine Service held on the Sunday to climax the visit. Members from the entire Sunyani district gathered at the Sunyani Central Church to fellowship.

The service was based on Acts 12:7 , ‘Now behold, an angel of the Lord stood by him, and a light shone in the prison; and he struck Peter on the side and raised him up, saying, “Arise quickly!” And his chains fell off his hands.’

Taking the text word from Acts 12:7, Lead Apostle Oppong-Brenya admonished the congregation in this regard, “The earth is a preparatory ground for heaven. Thus, the strife of the Christian to consistently overcome the temptations of flesh that lead to sin is for the hope of eternal bliss with the Lord. Man must therefore prepare himself spiritually so that his heart can be an eternal abode for the Lord. Every sin within the heart that keeps us from holiness must be abhorred”.

He further added, “The Lord’s word is the light that overcomes every darkness of sin. Our hearts can be cleansed by abiding daily with the instructions of the Lord Jesus Christ. Let us seek the light; let us constantly fight evil by walking in the light of the Word. This is how the chains of sin that hold us captives in prison is broken. The angels of the Lord are always present with us to guard us through this battle. May the chains of sin that bind us fall off our hands as we arise!”

Accompanying and assisting the Lead Apostle was Apostle Otchere Ayarkwa, steward of the Sunyani Apostle Area. 831 members attended the divine service.
