On the 7th January, 2019, Apostle George Anum Nortey conducted a divine service for the people of New Edubiase district at the Kwame Adu congregation in the Konongo Apostle area. He was accompanied by Bishop Charles Kesse and other District ministers.
The text word for the service was taken from 1 Corinthians 1:5-6 (NKJV), “That you were enriched in everything by Him in all utterance and all knowledge, even as the testimony of Christ was confirmed in you.”
Beginning the sermon, Apostle Nortey wished the members a happy new year and encouraged them to remain steadfast in Christ and be faithful to Him. He explained to the congregation the motto for the year, Rich in Christ. He explained that ‘Rich in Christ’ does not focus on earthly gains but rather riches inspired by the knowledge and guidance of the Holy Spirit.
He added that people who are rich in Christ have belief, hope and love in Christ. They wait patiently for Christ in their endeavours. They also love and care for their neighbours. We are required to exhibit these richness to people in our family, work places and the community. This will help to bring people to experience the wealth in Christ.
In conclusion, the Apostle advised that we will continually be rich in Christ if we do the will of God, continue steadfastly in the Apostles’ doctrine, and fellowship in the breaking of bread and in prayers.
The Apostle was supported by Bishop Charles Kesse, District Elder Opoku Ababio (New Edubiase district) and other ministers.
Two hundred and forty-one (241) members and guests from the community. One Priest was ordained for the district. After the service, Retired District Elder Afful Ako was also appreciated for his dedication and sacrifices for the district. The Apostle also informed the congregation of the coming of the Chief Apostle for the church’s 50th anniversary in Ghana.
