District Elder Adjei interacting with the Sunday School before the divine service
29 December 2018

The District Leader of Accra East, Ebenezer Adjei, celebrated Christmas on December 25th 2018 at the Tema congregation where he conducted a divine service for 188 brothers and sisters.

The text word for the divine service was taken from Luke 2:10-12 (NKJV), ‘Then the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people. For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. And this will be the sign to you: You will find a Babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.’

A special bible passage on Christmas was also read by a Sunday school sister from the book of Matthew 1:18-23.

District Elder Adjei began by highlighting the unique nature of the day. “We normally don’t hold services on Tuesdays but today we are here, to listen to the word of God; a special gift from God.” He said, “We, are not concerned by the date 25th, as disputed by others. However, we are concerned with what He came to do for us. Because He brought fellowship and peace between man and God and prepared us for the Kingdom of God.”

Reflecting on the text word, the District Elder exhorted the congregation to be open-hearted and receptive to and keep the Gospel and Word of God at all times, just as Joseph, Mary and the shepherds were to fulfill the scriptures.

District Elder Adjei also highlighted the symbolism of the ‘Babe wrapped in swaddling cloths’ as “the Word, the Holy Spirit, God who came in the likeness of a man”. He advised that just as the baby was kept safe and protected, we should also treasure the Word of God, keep secure in our hearts and spread the gospel as required by our faith and calling as New Apostolic Christians.

The District Elder was assisted by Shepherd Amponsah, Community Evangelist Sackey and Priests Tetteh, Badu and Tulashie. He also baptized 7 souls and adopted 2 other guests.
