The Apostles being welcomed by the Sunday school children
17 November 2018

The annual Thanksgiving service in the New Apostolic Church is a special day members show their gratitude and appreciation to their Creator. On the 11th November 2018, the Dunkwa-on-Offin congregation hosted Lead Apostle Samuel Oppong-Brenya on this special occasion. It also marked his last visitation to the Dunkwa Apostle area for the year 2018.

The text word for the service was taken from Genesis 4:4 (NKJV), ‘And Abel, he also brought of the firstlings of his flock and of the fat thereof. And the Lord had respect unto Abel and to his offering’.

The Lead Apostle urged the gathering to always remember that God expects us to come to Him with pure hearts. We also need to show appreciation to God for the free gifts we are enjoying. Citing the example of Abel, the Lead Apostle explained that Abel came to God with a kind and pure heart for which the Lord also respected his offering.

The Lead Apostle continued by encouraging the members to help the church with her activities and still maintain our faith in Jesus Christ till He returns.

He was assisted on the altar by Apostle Benjamin Darko, District Elder Kingsford Ansah and other district ministers.

Other activities such as recitation of the Articles of Faith, the Ten Commandments and selected bible verse quotations were performed by the Sunday School Children after the thanksgiving service.
