Apostle Benjamin Ohene-Saffo proclaims the word.
8 November 2018

On Sunday 28th October 2018, the Madina Congregation joined the East Legon Congregation to celebrate divine service and also prepare for the third and final divine Service for the Departed for the year. The service was led by Apostle Benjamin Ohene-Saffo (Accra Apostle area Apostle), and supported by District Elder Solomon Kyere. Ministers from both East Legon and Madina congregations were in full attendance.

The Bible text for the divine service was taken from Psalm 147:1 – 4: “Praise the Lord! For it is good to sing praises to our God; For it is pleasant, and praise is beautiful. The Lord builds up Jerusalem; He gathers together the outcasts of Israel. He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds. He counts the number of the stars; He calls them all by name.”

Apostle Benjamin Ohene-Saffo encouraged members to continue in the Apostle’s doctrine and proclaim the goodness of the Lord. He also pleaded with the congregation to prepare for the divine service for the departed and intercede on behalf of all those souls who are in the beyond.

He admonished members to honour and praise God in all situations and spheres of life. Challenges may come but we have hope that Christ shall return. He further advised members not to follow miracles but rather focus on working on their salvation with fear and trembling. With this, we shall be part of the New Jerusalem which shall be built for they that believe and trust in the Lord

Shepherd Jones Kyere (Madina Congregation) as well as Community Evangelists Emmanuel Mensah (Central Congregation) and Isaac Odum (East Legon Congretation) were also called to assist.

The divine service also served as a thanksgiving service for the burial of the late retired Community Evangelist Kwadwo Asante (Bortianor Congregation). Nana Asiedu Kofo II, a Chief of Akyem Kotoku and a brother to the late minister, extended the bereaved family’s gratitude to ministers and members of the New Apostolic Church for their constant support and fervent prayers throughout the burial ceremony.

The service was attended by 367 members including family members of the late Community Evangelist Emmanuel Asante (rtd).

Community Evangelist Kwadwo Asante (retired) was adopted and Holy Sealed into the New Apostolic Church in the early 1980s. He was later ordained as Priest and rose to a Community Evangelist with the Madina congregation. During his ministry, he was transferred to Kunkunuru in the Aburi district for some years. He was later moved to the Bortianor congregation in 2015 to continue his work until 2017 when he was retired from active service as a minister.
