Apostle Ohene-Saffo and Bishop Asare welcomed by the ministers at Kasoa
6 November 2018

On 4th November 2018, Apostle Benjamin Ohene-Saffo conducted divine service for the departed at the Kasoa congregation. He was accompanied by Bishop Charles Addo Asare.

The text word was taken from Mark 5:41-42 (NKJV), ‘Then He took the child by the hand, and said to her, “Talitha, cumi,” which is translated, “Little girl, I say to you, arise.”  Immediately the girl arose and walked, for she was twelve years of age. And they were overcome with great amazements.’

Apostle Ohene-Saffo explained how important it is for us to celebrate a divine service for the departed, because our great-grand-parents did not receive the Word like we have today. “We are not here alone but with souls from the realm of the departed. Our faith is what is important in this salvation work. We do not question how God will grant salvation to the souls from the departed, ours is just to believe” he said.

The Apostle added that many Christians will only look at the miracle of raising the dead and cannot see the spiritual side of today’s text word but Jesus was not interested in this miracle but to testify of His power and authority over death. He further stated that it took a relative of this little girl to intercede on her behalf, and so it is our duty to intercede on behalf of our dead relatives for them to receive salvation. He concluded by saying “if your heart is as strong as diamond and you do not believe it here on earth, do not be deceived that when you die it will be easy for you to receive salvation.”

Apostle Ohene-Saffo was assisted by Bishop Asare, and two rectors.
