On 14th of October 2018, the District Rector of Accra East, Ebenezer Felix Adjei visited the Osu congregation to conduct a divine service.
The text word was taken from Isaiah 41:13-14, ‘For I, the Lord your God, will hold your right hand, saying to you, ‘Fear not, I will help you.’ “Fear not, you worm Jacob, You men of Israel! I will help you,” says the Lord And your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel.’
The District Elder began the sermon by thanking the congregation for the effort made during the Thanksgiving offering on the previous Sunday. Elaborating on the text word, he said Jacob was blessed after an encounter with God. His name was changed to Israel and it became the name of the chosen people of God.
He added that since we have been baptised and sealed by the Apostles of Jesus, the statement “fear not, I will help you” refers to us New Apostolics. Therefore, as faithful Christians whenever we encounter challenges and tribulations in life, the Lord tells us not to fear. He cited Elisha's servant when he witnessed that the Syrian army had surrounded them. Elisha prayed and the Lord opened his eyes to see how they were surrounded by angels to protect them.
He concluded that as children of God everyone should have strong faith to attract His blessings, protection and help.
The District Elder was assisted by Shepherd Kwapong (rector) and Priest Tetteh (Accra East Youth Leader). Four children received baptism. Five souls also received adoption.
