Apostle Pidah (left) at the Altar
11 October 2018

THANKSGIVING is a special occasion in the New Apostolic Church worldwide, and this year was no exception. On Sunday 7th October, Apostle Benjamin Pidah conducted this year’s Thanksgiving service at Ho Central Church.

The Apostle service was based on Psalm 136: 1, 25-26 (NKJV] “Oh, give thanks to the LORD, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever. Who gives food to all flesh, for His mercy endures forever. Oh, give thanks to the God of heaven! For His mercy endures forever.”

In his sermon, the Apostle elaborated to the members that, our lives are fully occupied with daily activities, family problems, job place issues and other obligations. We live busy lives, but in all this God protects us from all harms. He further said true thankfulness cannot be limited, however it must be expressed and acted upon, and that we are not more special than those in other parts of the world who go through unfortunate moments like tsunamis, earthquakes and other different natural disasters.

Apostle Pidah highlighted that after the floods, Noah gave thanks and God made a covenant with him not to destroy the earth with water. The altar of grace is the place where our burnt and thanks offerings are placed. It is the genesis of all blessings for which reason Thanksgiving must come from a faithful heart.

In conclusion, the Apostle emphasised that our contributions and sacrifices should come out of love and Thanksgiving demonstrates the value we place on what the Lord has provided for us.

District Elder Albert Avedzi (Ho District) and District Evangelist William Parku were called to assist during the service. Four hundred and ninety-six (496) members were in attendance.
