In the fellowship of oneness in heart, students of the University of Ghana (UG), who are members of the Legon campus congregation received a special Divine service to welcome them from vacation. The day was termed ‘Divine Service and Breakfast’ which is the first ever of the sort to commemorate the occasion. This was held at 8am on the 26th August, 2018 in the Volta Hall Joint Common Room (JCR).
The service was led by Priest Bassil Damankah and supported by Shepherd Jones Kyere (Rector of the congregation). The text word was based on 1 Corinthians 13:11, ‘When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child; but when I became a man, I put away childish things’.
Priest Damankah admonished members to grow in faith, and attain maturity in their Christian lives. He also added that God continues to guide us and gives us opportunities to help us grow into adulthood in Christ.
The Divine service recorded a number of 31 congregants in attendance. After the service, the congregation enjoyed breakfast together to welcome returning and new students for the new academic year.
The ‘Divine Service and Breakfast’ is an initiative of the ministers and members of the UG Legon campus congregation to encourage the spirit of oneness among members and promote continuous fellowship in the Lord.
