Under the auspices of Apostle George Sam of the Takoradi Apostle working area, the much anticipated 2018 Annual Youth Camp came off from August 23rd to August 26th 2018. The four-day event was organized and hosted by the Essiama District on the premises of Essiama Senior High Technical School. Eleven (11) districts took part in this annual meeting.

After completion of registration and lodging procedures, the camp was officially opened with a welcome address by Bishop Thomas Ampofo in the early evening on Thursday 23rd. It was followed by a seminar on ‘The Return of Jesus Christ’.

The next day started with a morning devotion, after which the youth were engaged in seminars of various faith building and doctrinal issues. The topics discussed included, ‘New Apostolic Church Belief’, ‘History of New Apostolic Church’, ‘Holy Baptism’ and ‘Pastoral Care for the Youth’. Apostle George Sam also took time to explain the importance of the ‘Service for the Departed’. Additionally, District Elder Fenyi (Takoradi District) and his team also gave a Health Talk on "Hepatitis B".

After morning devotion on Saturday 25th, selected ministers and youth were tasked to perform a vineyard work within the Essiama community with the aim of introducing the church to the local folk as well as aid the local congregation to increase their membership. A free health screening on Hepatitis B was conducted for all youth members and ministers, followed by a float through the principal streets of the Essiama. In the afternoon, the youth got going in an exciting variety of sports and quiz competition. ‘Team Takoradi’, made up of Takoradi, Beposo and Atobiase districts, was adjudged the overall winner for both sports and quiz competitions. An open forum with Apostle Sam was held in the evening where he, supported by the Bishop, addressed questions from the gathered youth.

The youth celebrated Divine service with Apostle George Sam on Sunday 26th. The text word was taken from Deuteronomy 4:29. In the sermon, the Apostle advised the youth to always seek the Lord with their whole heart and not to allow anyone to deceive them. He also stressed on the need for the youth to be obey their leaders, and show love to everyone. He was assisted by Bishop Thomas Ampofo and District Elders Cudjoe and Nuomah. There were 518 members in attendance for the Divine service.

After the service, Apostle Sam announced to the youth that the 2019 Youth Camp will be held in Kumasi to commemorate the church’s 50th anniversary in Ghana.
