With less than a week to go, Youth members from the Accra, Volta North, Volta Central, Volta South and Cape Coast Apostle Areas are in high expectation, and anticipation of the activities at the forth coming Youth Camp. The camp is being hosted by the Accra Apostle Area and on the premise of the oldest and largest of the public universities in the country, University of Ghana. The Lead Apostle, Samuel Oppong-Brenyah, together with the respective 5 Apostles will also be in attendance to grace the event.
Over 2,000 youth members are expected to attend the camp. The event will begin with the arrival of Youth members on the 2nd of August 2018 and will be highlighted by a Divine service on the 5th of August 2018. Three of the four traditional halls of the university, in addition to a fourth hall of residence recently built, have been arranged to accommodate the participants. A central feeding system has also been planned to cater for the participants. A police escort has also been secured for the Health Walk outside of the university campus.
Following suggestions and feedback from the 2016 and 2017 camps, the organizers have outlined various faith building and social programs to educate, inspire and entertain the youth. One of such is the ‘Time with Apostles’. This is an interactive session between the Youth members and all the 6 Apostles on the application of the New Apostolic faith in their regular lives as well as a quest for deeper understanding of aspects of the New Apostolic Church doctrine.
In addition, the members will also enjoy a drama night titled “My Future Wife” and an evening of cultural displays from all 5 Apostle working areas. Various sporting teams from the Apostle Areas will also compete at the university’s athletic oval in the afternoon of the 4th August. In the evening, participants will be treated to a choral concert by the Youth Choir (Accra District). The camp will be closed with a Divine service led by the Lead Apostle on Sunday 5th August 2018.
We are definitely ready for the camp….ARE YOU?
