Members of the Accra East District (Accra Apostle Area) organized a memorable and fun-filled health walk around the neighbouring suburbs and business district of the Osu Congregation on 2nd July 2018. Under the theme, A Walk for Christ, about 150 members participated in this inaugural event.
The 7.9 kilometer walk involved members from all 8 congregations in the district partaking in the early morning walk. The event, which started and finished at the premise of the Osu congregation, saw brothers and sisters walk through the Klottey Korle constituency along some notable landmarks and principal routes such as the Independence Square, National Theatre, Liberations Circle, Accra Conference Centre and 28th February Road. Members were accompanied by a brass ensemble who energized the group with renditions of many New Apostolic hymns played in local folk music rhythm.
The almost 2-hour walk ended with an aerobics and warm-down session for the participants. Members were also served with fruits after the workout. There was also an opportunity for a free eye screening as part of the morning’s activities.
