A very exciting and interactive seminar on the basics of the New Apostolic Church was organized for ministers and Sunday school teachers of the Tema, Ashaiman, Gulf City and Sun City congregations. The seminar was facilitated by Bishop Asare (Accra Apostle Area) as part of a training program for the Accra East District. The seminar came off at the Tema congregation premise on the 2nd June 2018. The Bishop was ably assisted by District Elder Adjei (Accra East).
The seminar covered basics of the New Apostolic doctrine and faith such as the History and Foundation of the Church and Our Faith as a New Apostolic Church (NAC). The group was also taken through the composition and meaning of the NAC emblem.
As a prelude to the lesson on Sacrifices, Offerings and Thanksgiving, there was a very interesting and hilarious debate on the difference between Tithe and Offering, as well as our approach to these two acts. Bishop Asare explained that although tithing was instituted in the Old Testament as a command to support the church workers, it is ultimately an offering to support God’s work. He stated that offerings are the result of our thanksgiving and love for God and His work, and may come in both cash and kind, e.g. a graphic designer spending time to design an art work in support of God’s work for free or donating a portion of one’s salary or earnings to the church.
