Pentecost is considered as the birthday of Church of Christ. Lead Apostle Samuel Oppong-Brenya begun the activities of the day with Sunday School where short drama on Good Samaritan was displayed by the children.
The Apostle based his sermon on Ephesians 3:14-15, “In whom you also trusted, after that you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that you believed, you were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.”
The Apostle summarized this in four points;
- - the indispensable and tremendous victory of Christ over the Devil,
- the glory and reward from God the Father and our Lord Jesus Christ for the victory achieved,
- the Holy Spirit as inheritance to Christians, the heirs of the new heaven and earth,
- the woe and punishment of sinners and betrayers of Christ and His Faithful Servants.
The Lead Apostle continued that Pentecost has brought us one language for all people on earth with reference from the Pentecost Bible reading (Acts 2:1-13). The language on Pentecost day is about love, forgiveness, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, self-control, peace, joy, gentleness, and patience with reference from Galatians 5:22.
Supported on the altar were Apostle Anum Nortey George and other ministers.
