The departed Priest Promise K. Amevor
19 April 2018

On the 30th of March 2018, Priest Promise K. Amevor passed into the beyond, following a tragic beach incident that also claimed one other life. As a farewell, Apostle Benjamin Ohene-Saffo (Accra Area Apostle) held a service at the East Legon congregation (Accra East District) on the 14th April 2018.

The service was based on the text word Matthew 24:13 (NKJV), “But he who endures to the end shall be saved.”

Apostle Ohene-Saffo reflected on the labours and struggles of the Christian in this world, “If we cannot endure this world, we cannot be counted as over comers, we cannot enter His Kingdom”. Highlighting on Priest Amevor’s unwavering commitment until his death, the Apostle reminded the gathering of the vows to preach the Word every day and to take every opportunity to go about our Father's business. He further advised all to stand firm with the Lord in all ways as well as read the bible, and pray for the spiritual intellect to understand the bible.

On the 15th April, 2018, the family of the late Priest Amevor offered gratitude to the Lord at the Madina Congregation as part of Divine service. Based on the text word Luke 8:16 (NKJV), the District Elder Kyere (Accra West) further exemplified Priest Amevor’s shining light he held up high, both in words and deeds, to his very last breath.

Priest Amevor was born on Monday 8th April 1985 to John Amevor and Irene Mortey. He was ordained a minister and worked within the Somanya/Osuwem District under the Accra Apostle Area. Until his passing, he was the General Secretary of the Accra Apostle Area Youth and was heavily involved with the organization and planning of the 2018 Youth Camp for five Apostle Areas to be held in Accra. Priest Promise K. Amevor was survived by a wife and two children.

May our Lord grant him a peaceful rest.
