12 April 2018

The Crucifixion of Christ is our victory; it attests the faithfulness of Christ to His people. The gospel of our reconciliation with our God, keeps our hearts filled with incessant joy, just like the harmonious sound of music.

At exactly 15:00 hrs GMT, a performance by John Saade, an 11-year old organist and Anna Maria Oppong-Brenya, a violinist raised the curtain for this year’s music concert dubbed “The Crucifixion”. The concert was organized by the NAC-Youth Choir. Led by Shepherd Jones Kyere, the Youth Choir inspired the audience with harmonious chorale. The concert was divided into three sections with each section starting with a reading from the Bible. The three sections comprised; the triumphant entry of Christ to Jerusalem, the death of Christ and the resurrection of Christ.

Not only “Worthy is the Lamb” from Handel’s Messiah was performed by the choir but songs like “Mala Mala” by Ato Quayson and “Ten thousand times ten thousand” (NACH A453) triggered an eruption of applause from the audience.

The programme was crowned with the celebration of the 3rd anniversary of the NAC Youth Choir. The Lead Apostle, together with all the dignitaries present and the entire audience joined in the celebration. This year, the concert counted the highest number of audience since its commencement. The concert turned out a success once again. Glory be to God.
