“Easter is the celebration of the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead on the third day after His Crucifixion. We must believe as Christians that Jesus Christ was sent by God the Father to live among us, to show us perfect love, as He loved outcasts and sinners. Our joy is also found in sacrificial generosity, and not in accruing possessions.” This ware the massage of the Apostle at the beginning of the Easter Service on 1st April 2018 at the Ho Central Church.

Apostle Benjamin Pidah who conducted the service delivered a bible text chosen from Acts 10:40-42 “…Him God raised up on the third day, and showed Him openly, not to all the people, but to witnesses chosen before by God, even to us who ate and drank with Him after He arose from the dead. And He commanded us to preach to the people, and to testify that it is He who was ordained by God to be Judge of the living and the dead.”

The Apostle said Easter is the fulfilled prophecy of the Messiah who would be persecuted, die for our sins, and rise on the third day. Remembering the resurrection of Jesus is a way to renew our daily lives that we have victory over sin. Jesus’ followers rejoiced at Easter and developed deep faith. It wasn’t just that Easter showed them a really amazing miracle? No, the joy of Easter is even deeper than that. Easter shows us that perfect love and forgiveness always wins. In the end, whatever powerful people might try to do to silence love, God’s way is always stronger.

The Apostle asserts, “Easter also shows us that our mortal bodies would die, but there is life after death which continues and which shows us that we need not fear death.”
He concludes, “Easter is a complete reorientation of the love God has for His children, as Love defeats hate, Hope defeats fear, Sacrifice defeats greed, Mercy defeats might, and Life defeats death.”

During the service six confirmands took their confirmation vow to remain faithful to their end.

District Elder Avedzi and District Evangelist Parku (both Ho Elder District) were called to serve along.
