Apostle Oppong at the altar
11 November 2017

Apostle Samuel Oppong-Brenya conducted the divine service for the departed on Sunday,5th November, 2017, at the Accra Central Church.
He was accompanied by Apostle Benjamin Saffo who cares for the Accra Apostle Area.

Hebrew 4:16 was used as the basis for the divine service. This exultation by Apostle Paul applies to the living as well as the dead. The Apostle made a comparison between the mercy-seat and the throne of grace. He said the mercy-seat contained the two tablets of the law, Aaron's rod and the pot of manna, Hebrew 9:4. Here the High Priest could offer atonement of sin for the people once every year by the blood of a bull. At the throne of grace however, Jesus Christ offered his own blood as a living sacrifice.

Through the Apostle ministry and the Holy sacrament – Water Baptism, Holy Sealing and Holy Communion we have full trust in the death, the resurrection, ascension and the return of Jesus Christ. He said the Gospel is proclaimed to every one including the dead because Christ himself entered into the realms of the departed “by which also he went and preached unto the spirits in prison” 1 Peter 3:19.

With a true heart and full assurance of faith we can come boldly to the throne of grace for unmerited grace which God has granted to mankind. 1,892 brethren attended the divine service.
