After conducting a divine service at the University of Ghana, Legon, Apostle Oppong-Brenya conducted another divine service at Madina. He was accompanied by Apostle Ohene-Saffo and some ministers in the Accra Apostle Area.
The divine service which was held on Sunday, 8th October, 2017, started at 10:00 am with the opening hymn, “Sowing in the morning”. The text for the service was chosen from 2 Corinthians 9:7 (...for God loves a cheerful giver).
In the sermon, Apostle Oppong-Brenya reminded us of our thanksgiving in the past week. He emphasized that the value of our thanksgiving was not in the amount but that it should come from our hearts. He likened this to the widow’s offering. She gave all she had but we give a little out of our abundance.
The greatest gift of God to mankind is Jesus Christ; “for God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son”. For that matter, we should also be blessings unto others especially the needy and helpless. He admonished each and everyone to offer with their strength, knowledge, skills and talents.
Community Evangelist Kojo Asante of Bortianor congregation and Priest Kwame Osei of Madina congregation were retired. Also, Community Evangelist Jones Kyere of Legon congregation was ordained into the Shepherd ministry.
Priest Agbozo and Deacon Bright Samlafo of Madina congregation were also ordained as Community Evangelist and Priest respectfully.
Again, a six member orchestra was launched. The Apostle lauded them for their efforts and asked the congregation to support them. He also urged others to join in serving the Lord with their talents, time and money.
A total attendance of 351 souls was recorded.
